DFW swimming: Lap pools, open water, and where to cool off

Swimming in DFW has options beyond just backyard pools.

Lap swimming:

  • Dallas Aquatic Centers — multiple locations. 50-meter outdoor pools (summer). Indoor pools year-round at select locations. $3-5/visit. Source: dallasparks.org
  • Frisco Athletic Center — indoor 50-meter pool. $8 day pass, $55/month membership. Source: friscotexas.gov/fac
  • YMCA pools — multiple DFW locations with lane swimming. Membership required. Source: ymcadallas.org
  • Lifetime Fitness — indoor and outdoor pools. Membership includes pool access.

Open water swimming:

Waterparks:
