Deals & Discounts

The Rowlett coupon and deal sheet — local discounts most people don't know about

I've been collecting Rowlett-specific deals, discounts, and insider knowledge for years. Here's the master list.

Restaurant specials by day of the week:

  • Monday: Primo's Tex-Mex — $6.99 fajita plate (normally $12+). Cane's — no special but shortest line of the week.
  • Tuesday: Pizza Hut (66) — large 1-topping $7.99 carryout. Chili's — kids eat free with adult entree.
  • Wednesday: Tom Thumb — 10% senior discount (55+). Local pizza shops often do BOGO deals mid-week.
  • Thursday: Kroger — ad reset day. New weekly deals start. Load digital coupons Thursday morning for the best selection.
  • Friday: Fish City Grill (Rockwall) — Friday fish specials. Sonic (66) — half-price drinks all day (every day actually, but Fridays + half-price = perfect start to the weekend).
  • Saturday: Farmer's Market on Main Street (April-October, 8am-12pm). Late-morning discounts on produce. Chick-fil-A on 66 — longest line of the week, plan accordingly.
  • Sunday: Several Rowlett restaurants do brunch specials. Check Google for current offerings.

City program discounts:

  • Rowlett Community Centre — Resident rates are 30% cheaper than non-resident. Bring a utility bill to prove residency.

Primo's $6.99 fajita Monday is the best dinner deal in Rowlett. The fajita plate is legitimately good — not a "deal because it's cheap quality" situation. It's a deal because they want to fill seats on Mondays.

Chili's kids eat free on Tuesday is our family's weekly dinner out. Two adult entrees + two kids meals + drinks = $35 including tip. Try doing that anywhere else.

Tom Thumb senior discount Wednesday is when my parents do all their shopping. 10% off a $150 cart is $15 saved. Over a year that's $780. That's real money.

The library museum pass program is INCREDIBLE and almost nobody knows about it. We got free admission to the Perot Museum for our family of 4 — that's an $80 value. Ask the librarian at the Rowlett Library front desk.

Filing a property tax protest is the biggest money hack on this list. I've done it 4 years in a row and saved $4,500 total. Takes 30 minutes on the DCAD website and a 15-minute phone hearing. ALWAYS protest.
