Best happy hours within 10 minutes of Rowlett

Rowlett itself doesn't have a huge bar scene, but within a 10-minute drive you've got some solid happy hour spots.

In Rowlett:

Primo's Tex-Mex Grille (Lakeview Pkwy) — $5 house margaritas and $3 domestic drafts, Mon-Fri 3-6pm. The chips and queso are solid. Patio is nice in spring. This is the default after-work spot for a lot of Rowlett people.
Chili's (66/Dalrock area) — Look, it's a chain. But the $6 Presidente margarita is massive and the appetizer deals are half-price. Mon-Thu 3-6pm, Fri 3-7pm. No shame.

Rockwall Harbor (8-10 minutes):

Bin 303 — Wine happy hour: $5 select glasses, $2 off all wines by the glass. Tue-Fri 4-6pm. The charcuterie board at happy hour prices is date-night worthy.
Zanata — $6 cocktails, $4 beer, $5 wine. Mon-Fri 4-6pm. The patio overlooking the lake with a $6 Aperol spritz at sunset is hard to beat for the price.
Gloria's Latin Cuisine (Rockwall) — $5 mojitos and sangria, half-price apps. Mon-Fri 3-6pm. Their plantain chips with black bean dip during happy hour is a steal.

Garland (10-12 minutes):

Intrinsic Brewing — $1 off all pints during "Power Hour" — varies by day, check their social media. Good IPAs and stouts.
BJ's Restaurant (Firewheel) — Half-off mini deep dish pizzas and $5 pints during happy hour. Mon-Fri 3-6pm. The pizzas are underrated.

The sleeper picks:

Fish City Grill (Rockwall) — Weekday happy hour with $5 margaritas and $2 off all drafts. The fish tacos at happy hour are the best deal in the area. 3-6pm Mon-Fri.
Saltgrass Steak House (near Rockwall) — Bar only: $6 Texas-sized margaritas, $5 loaded baked potato skins. The portions are huge.

Pro tips:

Tuesday is the best happy hour day — less crowded than Friday, same prices.
Rockwall Harbor is walkable once you park. Hit Zanata and Bin 303 in one evening.
If you Uber from Rowlett to Rockwall Harbor, it's $8-12. Split with a friend and nobody has to be the designated driver.
