When you need care today and your doctor can't see you for 3 weeks, here are your options.

Walk-in urgent care (no appointment needed):

  • CareNow — 30+ DFW locations. Open 8am-8pm weekdays, reduced weekend hours. Most insurance accepted. Source: carenow.com
  • CityDoc — 10+ DFW locations. Open late. $85 self-pay visit. Source: citydoc.net
  • MedSpring (now part of CareNow) — same quality, being rebranded.
  • CVS MinuteClinic — basic issues (strep, UTI, flu). No appointment. $60-100 self-pay. Source: cvs.com/minuteclinic

Same-day appointment options:

  • Baylor Scott & White MyBSWHealth app — book same-day appointments with PCPs. Source: mybswhealth.com
  • Zocdoc — filter by "soonest available" and find same-day slots. Source: zocdoc.com
  • One Medical (Amazon) — membership model ($199/yr) but nearly always has same-day availability. DFW locations in Dallas, Plano, Fort Worth. Source: onemedical.com

Telehealth (immediate):

  • MDLIVE — $0 with many insurance plans, $75 self-pay. Source: mdlive.com
  • Teladoc — similar pricing and availability. Source: teladoc.com
  • Your insurance app — most Blue Cross, Aetna, Cigna, United apps have built-in telehealth with $0-25 copay.

After hours/weekends:

  • CareNow and CityDoc have Saturday/Sunday hours
  • Telehealth is available 24/7
  • Freestanding ERs are 24/7 but charge ER prices ($500+ minimum)
