What You'll Do

- Inspect residential and commercial properties for compliance with Dallas city codes - Respond to citizen complaints about overgrown lots, illegal dumping, and substandard housing - Issue citations and notices of violation, attend administrative hearings when needed - Use the city's code enforcement software to document inspections with photos and notes - Drive a city-issued vehicle to conduct 8-12 inspections per day across your assigned district

What You Need

- 2+ years of experience in code enforcement, building inspection, or related field - ICC Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector certification (or obtain within 12 months) - Valid Texas driver's license with clean record - Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred for South Dallas and West Dallas districts - Thick skin — people don't love seeing code inspectors show up at their property
