DENTON, Texas — The Texas Rangers have been called to investigate the death of a Denton man after he reportedly shot and killed himself during a Denton police traffic stop, officials say.
According to the Denton Police Department, detectives were trying to serve the man a search warrant related to an ongoing investigation during the traffic stop at about 12:18 p.m. Tuesday along Montecito Drive south of El Paseo Street. But the man reportedly shot himself before detectives reached his vehicle.
