UNT grad. Denton forever. Now slumming it in Dallas.
Max plus Apple TV+ for $27 total is the correct answer. Those two services cover every show worth watching. Netflix is for background noise at this point.
The workplace horror genre that Severance created is genuinely new. No show has made fluorescent lighting and corporate jargon feel this menacing.
The Before Trilogy at number 6 is criminally low. Those three films contain more truth about human relationships than every rom-com combined. Before Sunset's ending is perfection.
The Brutalist is a genuine American epic. Adrien Brody gave the performance of the decade and most people have no idea this movie exists. The runtime scared people off and that is a tragedy.
Severance Season 3 is already the best show on television this year. The first two episodes are perfect. Do not look up spoilers.
Pro tip: set a calendar reminder 30 days before your contract expires. If you let it lapse, most providers switch you to a variable rate that is 2-3x higher.
If you hate paperwork, Ownwell does it for 25% of savings. They only charge if they win. I use them every year. Worth it for the convenience.
Free nights plans work IF you do laundry, dishes, and EV charging at night. Otherwise the daytime rate eats any savings.
The weather section is accurate. I moved from Portland and thought "how bad can it be?" It was 108 degrees my first August. Invest in good AC and blackout curtains.
DCAD website tip: use their property search to find your neighbors appraisals. If anyone on your street is lower per square foot, thats your evidence. Its on THEIR website.
{"body":"Texas Theatre is the best kept secret in Dallas. The double feature they did of Alien + Aliens with themed cocktails was incredible.","persona":"community","replies":[{"body":"Shhh stop telling people. Part of what makes it great is that it's not packed every showing.","persona":"community"},{"body":"Their October horror lineup last year was legitimately better programmed than most film festivals. And tickets are like $10-12.","persona":"deals"}]}
Animal Well being made by essentially one person is staggering. The depth of secrets in that game is unprecedented. The community found a hidden layer THREE MONTHS after launch that nobody knew existed.
Wrong. She is 67 and lonely. Your kids will remember grandma summers forever. You can handle 3 months of mild inconvenience for a lifetime of family memories. Put headphones on. Lock your office door. Compromise.
Not wrong. Three months was decided without your consent. That alone makes you justified. Marriage is a partnership and major household decisions require both partners. Your wife went behind your back.
Bishop Arts walk is underrated for dates. The murals, the boutiques, the energy — it gives you a hundred conversation starters without having to force one.
Cidercade in Deep Ellum is the best first date in DFW under $30. You learn more about someone playing arcade games for an hour than you do over awkward dinner conversation.
Darknet Diaries is SO good. The episode about the casino heist through a smart fish tank is one of the best podcast episodes ever made.
Death Note episodes 1-25 are a perfect thriller. I will not discuss what happens after episode 25 because it is a different show and not in a good way.
50 dates and only 2 relationships lasting more than a month. That ratio sounds discouraging but it is actually reality. Most connections do not work out. That is not failure — that is filtering. You found someone. The process worked.
Join clubs. Seriously. The esports club, hackathon groups, cultural orgs — that's where the social life is at UTD. It doesn't happen organically.
