Rowlett doesn't have a big live music scene itself — yet. But within 15 minutes you have solid options every weekend.
In Rowlett:
- Sapphire Bay — Live music on the boardwalk during spring/summer weekends. Usually acoustic or small bands. Free. Check their Instagram for the schedule. The lakefront setting is legitimately nice.
- Local restaurants/bars — A few spots on 66 and Lakeview rotate live music on Friday/Saturday nights. Quality varies. Check Facebook events weekly.
Rockwall Harbor (12 minutes):
- The Harbor District — This is where east DFW goes for nightlife. Walking distance between multiple bars and restaurants with live music.
- Bin 303 — Wine bar with live music Fridays and Saturdays. Acoustic, jazz, sometimes blues. Relaxed vibe, good for date night.
- Zanata — Italian restaurant with a gorgeous patio. Live music on weekends during dinner service. The lakefront patio with music at sunset is hard to beat.
- Various Harbor bars — They rotate bands. The overall scene is walkable — park once, bar-hop between venues.
Garland's Downtown Square (15 minutes):
- The Granville Arts Center / Plaza Theatre — Live theater, concerts, comedy shows. Community theater is actually excellent. Tickets $15-30. Source: garlandarts.com
- Intrinsic Brewing — Local craft brewery with live music weekends. Good beer, chill vibe, family-friendly during the day.
- Downtown Garland square — First Friday art walks with live music. Free. Multiple galleries and restaurants participate.
Worth the 20-25 minute drive:
- Firewheel Town Center area (Garland) — Movie theaters, restaurants, occasionally outdoor concerts.
- Deep Ellum (Dallas, 30 min) — The DFW live music capital. Trees, The Bomb Factory (now The Echo Lounge), Dada, and dozens of bars with nightly live music. This is where you go for a real night out.
- Downtown Plano — Growing live music scene. McCall Plaza concerts in summer. Multiple bars with live music.
