Best sports bars in Houston for game day: Every major area covered

Whether you're watching the Texans, Astros, or Rockets, here's where to go by neighborhood.

Downtown / EaDo:

  • Pitch 25 (next to Shell Energy Stadium) — Best for soccer but has every game on. Great beer list, outdoor patio.
  • Lucky's Pub (downtown) — Houston institution. Multiple locations. The original on Dallas St. is the best. Gets absolutely packed for Texans games.

Midtown:

  • Little Woodrow's (Midtown location) — The quintessential Houston sports bar. Outdoor setup, cold beer, every TV has a different game. Saturday college football here is an experience.
  • Christian's Tailgate — The name says it all. Bar food is above average. Wings are top-tier.

Washington Ave:

  • Johnny's Gold Brick — More cocktail bar than sports bar but they'll put the game on and the crowd gets into it.
  • Bobcat Teddy's — Dive bar energy. Cheap beer. TVs everywhere. No pretension.

Heights:

  • Eureka Heights Brewing — Watch the game with a locally brewed beer. Laid back, dog friendly, good vibes.

Christian's Tailgate wings are legitimately the best bar wings in Houston. Smoked then fried. Order them every time.

Pitch 25 before a Dynamo match is the move. Walk to Shell Energy Stadium after. Perfect game day.

Little Woodrow's Midtown for college football Saturday is a Houston tradition. Every Big 12 and SEC school has a section.

Lucky's Pub on Dallas St for a Texans Sunday is pandemonium. Get there 90 minutes before kickoff or you're standing outside.
