Tier 1 — Best of DFW tech:

  • Capital One (Plano) — Glassdoor 4.0. Strong engineering culture, good pay, flexible hybrid. Free snacks, modern campus. Source: glassdoor.com
  • Toyota Connected (Plano) — innovation arm of Toyota. 4.1 Glassdoor. Interesting problems (autonomous vehicles, connected services).
  • Charles Schwab (Westlake) — 4.0 Glassdoor. Relocated from SF. Strong WLB. Generous PTO.

Tier 2 — Very good:

  • Texas Instruments (Dallas) — 4.1 Glassdoor. Hardware/embedded focus. Excellent benefits. More traditional culture.
  • Salesforce (Dallas) — 4.0 Glassdoor. Strong culture, Ohana philosophy. Good benefits.
  • Goldman Sachs (Dallas) — 3.7 Glassdoor. Pay is top-tier. WLB varies by team. Finance culture.

Tier 3 — Mixed reviews:

  • AT&T (Dallas) — 3.5 Glassdoor. Legacy company culture. Pay is below market for some roles but benefits are strong.
  • Lockheed Martin (Fort Worth) — 4.0 Glassdoor. Great benefits, defense culture, security clearance required for many roles.

What to look for in DFW tech jobs:

AT&T is where senior engineers go for WLB. The pay isn't top of market but 35-hour weeks with full benefits and pension is hard to beat if you're past the grind phase.

Capital One Plano campus is basically a tech company campus. Free food, modern offices, strong engineering culture. The only downside is it's in Plano (fight me, Plano).

TI has the best benefits package in DFW tech. Pension (yes, still), 401K match, profit sharing, on-site gym, and flexible hours. The pay isn't FAANG level but total comp is strong.
