Went to visit a friend at UNT last weekend and the Denton square is exactly what a college town should be. Bars, live music, coffee shops, record stores, local restaurants — all walkable from campus.
Compare that to SMU (expensive, uptight) or UTD (suburban wasteland) or TCU (nice but everything is a drive). UNT has the actual college experience.
The cost of living in Denton is also way more manageable than Dallas proper. Apartments near campus are still reasonable.
Am I wrong? What's the best college town in DFW?
