Some of these are universal, some are definitely a DFW thing. Tell me if I'm being unreasonable.
My DFW-specific deal breakers:
-
They refuse to drive to your side of the metroplex. Ever. If I live in Dallas and you live in Fort Worth, we meet in the middle or take turns. Not negotiable.
-
They tailgate on 635 at 80mph. This isn't a driving preference, it's a character trait.
-
They have a strong opinion about Dallas vs Fort Worth that borders on tribalism. "Fort Worth is the REAL Texas" or "Dallas is all that matters" — both are exhausting.
-
They've lived here 5+ years and never explored beyond their 10-mile radius. No curiosity about the rest of the metroplex.
-
They treat service workers badly at restaurants. DFW service industry people work hard. The entitlement I've seen at some Uptown restaurants is embarrassing.
-
They max out their budget on a truck payment and then complain about money. This might be a Texas-wide deal breaker.
-
Their entire personality is being from [specific high school]. You graduated 10 years ago.
Am I crazy or are these reasonable?
