Erling Haaland has rewritten the Premier League record books in a way that may never be replicated.

- Goals per 90 minutes: highest rate in Premier League history among players with 50+ appearances.
- Headed goals: dominant in aerial duels, multiple headed goals per season.
What makes him different from every other Premier League striker:
- Movement. Haaland's off-the-ball runs are elite. He makes 5-6 runs in behind per game. Most strikers make 2-3.
- Clinical finishing. His conversion rate from big chances is consistently among the best in Europe.
- Physical profile. 6'4", runs sub-11-second 100m (reported by Dortmund training staff). The combination of size and speed is unfair.
- De Bruyne connection. Having the best creative midfielder in Premier League history supplying you helps. But Haaland scores without De Bruyne too.
The criticism:
- Disappears in big games. His goal record against top-6 sides is below his overall rate.
- Does not contribute enough outside of goal scoring. Pressing stats and chance creation for others are below average for a forward at a title-winning club.
Historical comparison:
- Shearer had sustained excellence over 14 seasons. Haaland's peak is higher but longevity is unproven.
- Henry combined goals with creativity in a way Haaland does not. Henry remains the more complete player.
- But pure goal scoring? Haaland is the best the Premier League has ever seen.
