DFW fighters in the UFC — tracking every local fighter and their records

DFW has produced and developed some serious UFC talent. lets compile the list.

fighters who train/trained primarily at DFW gyms:

Fortis MMA (Dallas)

  • this is the big one. Fortis has been a UFC fighter factory. multiple current UFC fighters train here under head coach Sayif Saud
  • the camp consistently produces well-rounded fighters who are technically sound
  • if you follow UFC closely you see the Fortis MMA logo on fight week content regularly

other DFW gym connections:

  • fighters from various DFW gyms have made it to the UFC through LFA and Contender Series
  • the local amateur scene feeds into professional MMA which feeds into the UFC pipeline

historic DFW MMA:

  • DFW has been a fight town since the early days of MMA. some of the first UFC events had Texas fighters
  • the texas athletic commission was one of the first to regulate MMA properly which allowed the sport to grow here

the pipeline: amateur fights in DFW → regional promotions (LFA, Fury FC) → Dana White's Contender Series → UFC

this pipeline is real and active. right now there are probably 20+ amateur fighters in DFW gyms who will be in the UFC within 5 years.

who are the current DFW-based UFC fighters you follow? and which local amateurs do you think will make it?

went to a Fury FC event last year and saw a DFW amateur who was clearly levels above everyone else. wouldn't be surprised to see him in LFA this year and UFC within 2-3. the talent in this city is real

someone should make a spreadsheet tracking every DFW-trained fighter in the UFC with their records and gym affiliations. would be great content for this community

the texas athletic commission being early to regulate MMA is an underappreciated part of why DFW has such a strong fight scene. legal regulation meant gyms could develop fighters properly instead of underground

Fortis MMA has quietly become one of the best camps in the world. not just a fighter factory but a WINNING fighter factory. their fighters consistently show improvement fight to fight which tells you the coaching is elite

the DFW to LFA to UFC pipeline is one of the strongest in the country. being in a major metro with a legit feeder promotion right in your backyard is a massive advantage for local fighters
