The American Airlines Center opened in 2001 and hosts both the Mavericks and the Stars. If you are attending your first game, this guide covers everything.
Location: 2500 Victory Ave, Dallas, TX 75219. Located in the Victory Park district just north of Uptown.
Getting there:
- DART: Green Line to Victory Station. The station is literally across the street from the arena. This is the best option. $2.50 each way.
- Driving: Parking garages in Victory Park range from $15-30. Street parking on side streets is free after 6 PM — this is the cheat code. Look on Olive St and Houston St within a 3-block radius.
- Rideshare: Drop-off zone is on Olive St. Expect a $5-10 surge on game nights.
Inside the arena:
- Clear bag policy: Bags must be 14" x 14" x 6" or smaller and clear. Small clutch purses (4.5" x 6.5") are allowed regardless of material.
- Best value seats (Mavs): Upper deck corner sections 301-305 and 325-329. $25-50 for regular season games. Full view of the court.
- Best value seats (Stars): Upper deck center sections 315-319. $30-60. You can see the entire ice surface.
Food highlights:
- Brisket grilled cheese at the Lexus Club concourse (if you have club access): best item in the building
- Chicken tenders at Section 105: solid and reliable
- Craft beer at the Draft Room (Section 112): rotating local options
Atmosphere tips:
- Mavs games are loudest during playoff contention. Regular season Tuesday games can be quiet.
- Stars games are consistently louder than Mavs games. Hockey fans bring energy regardless of standings.
- The video board and DJ at Mavs games keep the energy up during breaks.

DART Green Line is the move. No traffic stress, no parking cost, and the station could not be closer to the arena. Takes 25 minutes from Mockingbird Station.
