Noticed a "closing sale" sign at a small bookshop in the Bishop Arts area this week. Not going to name it because they're still open and don't need the pity traffic — they need actual customers buying actual books.
But it made me think: how many small businesses in DFW do we say we love but never actually go to? We'll drive past the local bookshop to order from Amazon. We'll skip the local coffee shop for Starbucks.
I'm guilty of it too. But every time one of these places closes we all act surprised.
