Crisis/immediate help:

  • Parkland Psychiatric Emergency — 5200 Harry Hines Blvd, Dallas. Walk-in 24/7 for psychiatric emergencies.

Therapy (affordable):

  • Open Path Collective — $30-80/session with licensed therapists. Source: openpathcollective.org
  • NAMI North Texas — free support groups, education programs. Source: naminorthtexas.org
  • UT Southwestern Psychiatry Clinic — sliding scale. Teaching hospital = lower cost. Source: utswmed.org
  • SMU Center for Family Counseling — $10-50/session based on income. Supervised graduate students. Source: smu.edu

Support groups (free):

  • NAMI DFW support groups — weekly, multiple locations. Peer-led. Source: naminorthtexas.org/support
  • AA/NA meetings — meetings.aa.org for DFW listings. Hundreds of meetings weekly.
  • DBSA (Depression & Bipolar Support Alliance) — Dallas chapter meets monthly. Source: dbsalliance.org

For the uninsured:

  • North Texas Behavioral Health Authority (NTBHA) — mental health services regardless of ability to pay. Source: ntbha.org
  • Metrocare Services — largest public mental health provider in DFW. Sliding scale. Source: metrocareservices.org

Online/app-based:

  • BetterHelp/Talkspace — $60-90/week. Insurance increasingly covers these.
  • Cerebral — $85/month for therapy + medication management if needed.
