The Ginger Man (Uptown) — been here since the 90s. 70+ beers on tap. No TVs (rare in DFW). Quiet patio. If you know, you know.

Cattleack Barbeque (Farmers Branch) — only open Thu-Sat 10:30am until sold out. There's a reason they can operate 3 days a week and have a 45-minute line every day.

The Bath House Cultural Center (White Rock Lake) — 1930s building converted to gallery/performance space. Free gallery. On the lake. Peaceful.

Benbrook Lake (Fort Worth) — locals know this lake but transplants only hear about Grapevine and Lewisville. Less crowded, better fishing.

Spiral Diner (Oak Cliff + Fort Worth) — all-vegan diner. Even non-vegans love it. The "chick-un" fried steak is incredible.

Asia Times Square (Grand Prairie) — massive Asian grocery + food court + shops. Feels like you teleported to another country. Food court is $8-12 for authentic dishes.

Dragon Park (Oak Cliff) — tiny park with a giant dragon sculpture. Free. Perfect for photos.

Old Red Museum (downtown Dallas) — the old courthouse. Beautiful building, Dallas history exhibits. $10. Source: oldred.org

Lake Carolyn (Irving/Las Colinas) — gondola rides, walking trails, public art. Random and charming.

Cattleack operating 3 days a week and still having a line out the door tells you everything. Best brisket in DFW and I will argue with anyone.
