Common Ground Games is the best spot for board game beginners. The staff teaches you how to play anything in the library. I learned Wingspan there and now own three copies.

Free Play Arlington on a Friday night is peak DFW nightlife for gamers. $10 all you can play, cheap drinks, and the crowd is always good. The Time Crisis 2 machine is worth the trip alone.

DFW LAN events are how I found my competitive team. Showing up with your rig and playing against strangers who become friends is old-school internet culture IRL.

Cidercade is the perfect date spot for people who game. "Want to drink cider and play arcade games?" has a 100% success rate as a date pitch.

Nerdvana in Frisco is dangerous for your wallet. The board game library is massive and the food is actually good. I went for "a quick game" and stayed 5 hours.
