Figured I'd share since I looked everywhere for honest reviews before I joined.
Pros:
- Campus is beautiful. The cafeteria is subsidized and actually good.
- Benefits are excellent. 401k match is generous.
- Work-life balance is real. I leave at 5pm and nobody bats an eye.
- They invested heavily in the Plano campus — it's a nice place to be.
Cons:
- Promotion is slow. Very slow. Japanese corporate culture means decisions take forever.
- Salary is competitive but not top-of-market for tech roles.
- Hybrid schedule is 3 days in office, non-negotiable.
Overall: great place if you want stability and good benefits. Not great if you want to move fast and get promoted quickly.
Slow promotion is the universal experience at Japanese companies. But the trade-off is they rarely do mass layoffs either.
