The Cowboys hold training camp in Oxnard, California each summer. If you are planning the trip, here is the complete guide.
Location: River Ridge Playing Fields, 2101 W Vineyard Ave, Oxnard, CA 93036.
Schedule: Camp typically opens in late July and runs through mid-August. Practices are usually held at 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM PT. The team posts the daily schedule on dallascowboys.com.
Admission: Free. No tickets required. Gates open 90 minutes before practice. Source: dallascowboys.com/trainingcamp.
What to bring:
- Sunscreen. Oxnard in July is sunny and warm (80s).
- Water. Hydration stations are available but bring your own bottle.
- A Sharpie and items for autographs. Players sign after practice — line up along the fence near the locker room exit.
- A chair or blanket. There is bleacher seating but it fills up fast for the morning session.
Pro tips for autographs:
- Afternoon practices have smaller crowds. Your odds of getting signatures are much better.
- Rookies and younger players are more willing to sign. The stars (Dak, CeeDee, Parsons) sign occasionally but it is not guaranteed.
- Be respectful. Players are more likely to engage if the crowd is calm and organized.
Nearby:
- The Oxnard beaches are 10 minutes away. Channel Islands Harbor has good seafood.
- Ventura is 15 minutes north with a great downtown strip.
- For Cowboys fans making a vacation of it: Santa Barbara is 45 minutes north.
The DFW alternative: If you cannot make the Oxnard trip, the Cowboys hold open practices at The Star in Frisco in August. Fewer practices but no travel required.

The Star practices in Frisco are solid if you cannot fly to California. Not the same atmosphere but you still get to see the team up close and it is free.
