Gi reviews: I've owned 8 gis and here's what I actually recommend

After spending way too much money on gis over 5 years, here's my honest ranking:

Best overall: Fuji All Around. $90, durable, fits well, doesn't shrink much. I've had mine for 3 years and it's still in great shape.

Best value: Sanabul Essentials. $45 and honestly 80% as good as gis that cost 3x more. Perfect starter gi.

Most overpriced: not naming the brand but if a gi costs $200+ and doesn't come with superpowers, it's not worth it.

Best fitting for bigger guys: Kingz. Their cut is generous without being baggy.

Don't overthink your first gi. Get the Sanabul, train for 6 months, then decide what you actually care about in a gi (weight, fit, durability).
