Tornado warning issued for Tarrant County — take shelter immediately

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for Tarrant County until 7:45 PM.

Details:

  • Radar-confirmed rotation over southwest Fort Worth moving northeast at 35 mph
  • Path includes: Benbrook, TCU area, downtown Fort Worth, Haltom City
  • Large hail up to 2 inches also possible

What to do:

  • Move to an interior room on the lowest floor
  • Stay away from windows
  • If in a car, do NOT try to outrun it. Find a sturdy building.
  • If you have a storm shelter, use it NOW

Rotation is visible from my apartment in Arlington. This is not a drill, take shelter.

WFAA meteorologist just said this is a particularly dangerous situation. Get underground if you can.

Power just went out in Benbrook. Hail is insane right now, baseball sized.

Checking in from TCU area. Sirens going off. In the bathtub with my dog.

NWS confirmed brief touchdown near Benbrook. Damage reports coming in on Winscott Road.
