Dallas Fire-Rescue is battling a 2-alarm fire at an apartment complex in the 9800 block of Forest Lane.
Current status:
- Fire broke out around 6 AM in a second-floor unit
- Spread to at least 4 adjacent units before being contained
- No fatalities reported, 2 people treated for smoke inhalation
- Approximately 20 residents displaced
Response:
- DFR has 8 units on scene
- Red Cross is setting up a temporary shelter at the nearby rec center
- Forest Lane reduced to one lane each direction between Audelia and Abrams

These older complexes on Forest Lane have had fire issues before. A lot of them were built in the 70s with minimal fire suppression.
