Rent in El Paso has gotten insane. Good topic to discuss.

Fort Worth side has some hidden gems that nobody talks about. Worth the drive.

This is exactly the kind of conversation I come here for. Real local takes.

Interesting — I think the Houston angle gets overlooked.

BASC (before and after school care) at our Rowlett elementary has been great. My daughter goes from 7:00-7:45 AM before school and 3:30-5:30 PM after. Staff are kind and she does homework. Worth the cost for the peace of mind.

Chili's kids eat free on Tuesday is our family's weekly dinner out. Two adult entrees + two kids meals + drinks = $35 including tip. Try doing that anywhere else.

The 504 vs IEP distinction is important. Our daughter has ADHD and a 504 plan with extended time on tests and a quiet testing room. She doesn't need an IEP — the 504 accommodations are enough. The process was much simpler.

fighters dying from weight cuts in regional shows where there is zero medical supervision is criminal. the commissions need to step up. blood is on their hands

This hits different if you've been in DFW for 10+ years.

the competition argument is fair. if you want to win IBJJF worlds youre probably not training at Octagon. but if you want to learn BJJ, get in shape, compete at NAGA, and have a good time, its absolutely sufficient

Bayside having the lowest rate makes sense. The neighborhood has basically two ways in and out, and most streets are not through-streets. Hard to steal and escape quickly.

Real talk right here. No sugarcoating.

The Bayside kayak launch is unofficial but well-used. I've never had any issues accessing the water there. The water on that side is calmer because it's more protected from the open lake wind.
