Electrician Apprentice

What You'll Do
- Work alongside licensed journeyman electricians on commercial and residential projects across DFW
- Pull wire, install conduit, mount electrical panels, and wire outlets and switches
- Read blueprints and electrical diagrams to understand project scope and layout
- Attend IBEW-affiliated classroom training one evening per week as part of the apprenticeship program
- Progress through the 4-year apprenticeship with increasing responsibility and pay at each level
What You Need
- Must be 18+ with a high school diploma or GED
- Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites
- No electrical experience required — the apprenticeship IS the training
- Ability to work at heights (ladders, lifts, rooftops) and in tight spaces (attics, crawlspaces)
- Basic hand tool knowledge is helpful — you'll need to invest in your own tool belt and basics ($200-400)
What They Offer
- $18-$24/hr starting (increases every 6 months as you advance through apprenticeship levels)
- Journeyman electricians in DFW earn $30-$45/hr — that's your 4-year trajectory
- IBEW union membership with pension, health insurance, and annuity contributions
- Tools and PPE provided for the first 6 months until you build your kit
- Overtime is common — most apprentices earn $50K-$65K with OT in their first year
