Best shows on every streaming platform right now: April 2026 guide

Too many streaming services. Not enough time. Here is exactly what is worth watching on each platform right now.

Netflix:

  • Stranger Things (Final Season, Part 1) — the Duffer Brothers are wrapping up the biggest Netflix original ever. Mixed reviews but essential viewing.
  • Black Mirror Season 7 — the AI episodes are uncomfortably prescient.
  • Wednesday Season 2 — Jenna Ortega continues to carry this franchise.

Apple TV+:

  • Severance Season 3 — best show on television right now. Period.
  • Slow Horses Season 5 — Gary Oldman mumbling his way through MI5 bureaucracy. Consistently excellent British espionage.
  • Silo Season 3 — the sci-fi epic that deserves more viewers.

Max (HBO):

  • The White Lotus Season 3 — Thailand setting. Mike White cannot miss.
  • The Last of Us Season 2 — Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey delivering the game's most controversial storyline.
  • Hacks Season 4 — Jean Smart is a national treasure.

Disney+:

  • Andor Season 2 — the best Star Wars content since the original trilogy.
  • Daredevil: Born Again — hit or miss but the courtroom scenes are excellent.

Amazon Prime:

  • Fallout Season 2 — the first season was a surprise hit. Season 2 expands the wasteland.
  • The Boys Season 5 (final season) — wrapping up the most savage superhero satire ever made.

The value ranking: Apple TV+ > Max > Netflix > Prime > Disney+ for quality per dollar spent.

Andor Season 2 is the show Star Wars fans have been begging for since 1983. Tony Gilroy understood that Star Wars works best when it treats the universe seriously instead of as a toy commercial.

Apple TV+ being the best value in streaming is the most counterintuitive truth in entertainment. Nobody talks about it because nobody has it, but the quality per show ratio is absurd.

Hacks Season 4 continues to be the funniest show on television. Jean Smart's delivery is in a league of its own. If you are not watching this, fix that immediately.

The Last of Us Season 2 adapting Part II of the game is going to be divisive. That story broke the gaming community in half. The show adaptation will do the same.
