I'm testing for my green belt in karate next Saturday. I've been training for 14 months, I know the material, my instructor says I'm ready.
But I'm irrationally nervous. I'm 40 years old nervous about a belt test in front of a panel of other grown adults.
I think it's because I actually care about it. It's the first thing in a long time where I put in real work and the result matters to me personally, not for a job or a paycheck.
Anyone else get nervous for belt tests? Tell me I'm not the only adult who cares about this stuff.
