If you could change ONE play in Cowboys history, which one and why?

The franchise has 60+ years of iconic moments — and painful ones. If you could go back and change the outcome of one single play, which do you pick?

My pick: The Dez catch/no-catch in the 2014 divisional round vs. Green Bay. If that's ruled a catch, the Cowboys likely win and face Seattle in the NFC Championship. That was the best Cowboys roster in 20 years.

Other candidates:

  • Jackie Smith's dropped TD in Super Bowl XIII (1979) vs. Steelers
  • The fumbled snap by Romo on the field goal attempt vs. Seattle (2007 Wild Card)
  • The Dez no-catch (2014)
  • Any of the 3 playoff losses in the 2020s

Jackie Smith. Super Bowl. A catch that any other tight end makes and the Cowboys win their 3rd straight. That one haunts me.

The Romo fumble. I was at that game. The entire stadium went silent. 65,000 people in shock.

Dez caught it. I will die on this hill. Source: my own eyes and the laws of physics.
