HVAC work in Texas is as close to job security as it gets

It was 108 degrees in DFW last July. Every HVAC company I know was backed up 2+ weeks on service calls. People were paying premium rates just to get someone to show up.

I've been in HVAC for 12 years and I have never once worried about finding work. The summers are brutal but the money is insane from May through September.

If you're thinking about trades, HVAC in Texas is about as recession-proof as it gets. People will go without a lot of things. They will not go without AC.

Summer is money season for sure. I cleared $85K last year and I'm not even a business owner. Just a senior tech.
