New restaurant tracker: Every DFW opening and closing in 2026 (updated weekly)

Keeping a running list of every notable restaurant opening and closing in DFW for 2026. Will update weekly.

Recent openings (March-April 2026):

  • Tatsu Ramen (Legacy West, Plano) — Japanese chain, first Texas location
  • Cane Rosso Express (Mockingbird Station) — Fast casual version of the pizza institution
  • Loro (Deep Ellum) — Aaron Franklin + Tyson Cole collab, Asian-BBQ fusion from Austin

Upcoming:

  • H-E-B (multiple DFW locations) — The grocery store Texans have been begging for. Frisco, Plano, McKinney locations confirmed for 2026.
  • Raising Cane's (3 new DFW locations) — Because we clearly need more chicken fingers

Notable closings:

  • CBD Provisions (downtown) — After 10 years. The space will become a new concept.
  • Mot Hai Ba (Deep Ellum) — Vietnamese fine dining, closed after 5 years

CBD Provisions closing is sad. That was one of the best restaurants in downtown. 10 year run is respectable though.

H-E-B coming to DFW is the biggest food news of the decade. Kroger and Tom Thumb should be terrified.

Loro from Austin is going to be huge in Deep Ellum. The brisket rice bowl is incredible.
