Saw that Tarrant County bumped starting pay for corrections officers to around $52K/year. That's up from like $38K a few years ago. They're desperate for staff.
I know it's not everyone's dream job but if you need stable work with benefits and a clear career path, it's worth considering. They promote from within and after 5 years you can lateral into other county positions.
Anyone here work in county corrections? What's the real scoop?
