Everyone clowns suburban dining but Plano and Frisco have quietly built a legit food scene. Here's the proof.
Plano:
- Urban Crust (Legacy, 1006 E 15th St) — Rooftop pizza. The 14th St pizza with prosciutto is elite. $14-18.
- Whiskey Cake (Plano, 3601 Dallas Pkwy) — Farm-to-table. The whiskey cake dessert is iconic.
- Sixty Vines (Plano) — Wine on tap + shareable plates. Great for groups.
- Legacy Hall (7800 Windrose Ave) — Food hall with 20+ vendors. Something for everyone.
- Haywire (Plano) — Upscale Texan. Chicken fried ribeye: $28.
Frisco:
- The Star District — Multiple restaurants near Cowboys HQ. Concrete Cowboy, The Ranch, etc.
- Babe's Chicken (Frisco) — Family-style fried chicken. See my other post.
- Bulla Gastrobar (Frisco) — Spanish tapas. Patatas bravas and sangria.
- Nerdvana (Frisco, 5757 Main St) — Gaming + food concept. Surprisingly good food.
Best hidden gem in the suburbs: Zatar (2825 W Park Blvd, Plano) — Lebanese. Shawarma plate: $13. Hummus is the best in DFW.
