Knox-Henderson has quietly become one of the best food streets in Dallas. Here's the guide.
The anchors:
- Gemma (2323 N Henderson Ave) — Italian from the Fireside Pies team. Pasta is handmade daily. Rigatoni bolognese: $18.
- Toulouse (3314 Knox St) — French bistro. Steak frites + a glass of wine is the quintessential Knox dinner. $22 entrees.
- The Porch (2912 N Henderson Ave) — American gastropub. Great patio. Burger is excellent.
Casual bites:
- Oishii (2525 Wycliff Ave) — Solid sushi, good value. Lunch special: $12 for 2 rolls + miso.
- Village Baking Co (Knox, 3547 Knox St) — Bakery. The croissants compete with anything in Paris. $4 each.
- Thai Terrace (Knox) — Pad thai and green curry that punches above its strip-mall weight class.
Drinks + food:
- The Truck Yard Knox — Smaller than the original but same energy.
- Parliament (Henderson Ave) — Cocktail bar with elevated bar snacks.
Splurge:
- Hudson House (Knox, 4448 Lovers Ln) — Oyster bar and seafood. Raw bar is excellent. $30-50/person.
