I've tried a bunch of side hustles in DFW over the last two years. Here's what actually made money vs what was a waste of time.
Lawn care in the suburbs prints money from March through October. I started with a $300 mower and had 12 regular yards within two months. Frisco and McKinney people will pay $50-60 for a basic mow and edge.
DoorDash is fine but the math barely works after gas and car wear. Made about $18/hour on good nights, $12 on bad ones.
Flipping furniture from Facebook Marketplace has been my best return on time. Buy stuff for $20-50, clean it up, resell for $150-200. Mid-century modern stuff flies.
The one I wish I'd started sooner: pressure washing. Bought a $400 pressure washer and charge $150-200 per driveway. Three driveways on a Saturday is $500.
