I've gone through 4 boil-and-bite mouthguards in 2 years. They never fit right, they make it hard to breathe, and they always fall out when I'm talking between rounds.
Is it worth getting a custom mouthguard from a dentist? Or is there a mid-tier option between the $5 drug store ones and the $400 dental ones?
I got hit with a knee to the face last week during a scramble and it convinced me that dental bills are more expensive than any mouthguard.
I got a custom one from my dentist for $150 and it's worth every penny. Fits perfectly, I forget I'm wearing it.
