Fort Worth brunch guide: Because Dallas does not have a monopoly on good food

Fort Worth brunch is underrated because everyone assumes "brunch = Dallas." Wrong.

The best:

  • Fixe Southern House (Sundance Square) — Southern brunch done right. Biscuits and gravy, chicken fried steak and eggs. The dining room is gorgeous.
  • Press Cafe (multiple FW locations) — The local favorite. Pancakes are fluffy, coffee is strong, service is friendly.
  • Ellerbe Fine Foods (Near Southside) — Farm-to-table brunch. The quiche changes weekly. Everything is seasonal and local.

Hidden gems:

  • Snooze (Clearfork) — Colorado chain that nails it. Pineapple upside down pancakes.
  • Blue Bonnet Bakery (Camp Bowie) — Old school Fort Worth. Pastries and sandwiches. No pretension.
  • Magnolia Cheese Company (Near Southside) — Not technically brunch but the cheese board + wine at 11 AM on Saturday counts.

Fort Worth vs. Dallas brunch:

  • Dallas: trendier, pricier, Instagram-optimized, better cocktail menus
  • Fort Worth: more authentic, better value, less wait, better actual food-to-price ratio

The Fort Worth vs Dallas comparison is accurate. I stopped going to Uptown for brunch when I realized I was paying 40% more for the same quality.

Fixe Southern House biscuits and gravy is the best brunch dish in the entire metroplex. Dallas included. I said what I said.

Press Cafe is Fort Worth's Bread Winners equivalent. A local institution that never disappoints.
